At SM Electrical, we are proud to have carried out many prestigious projects across the country. We enjoy nothing more than working alongside other trades contractors and design teams to provide top class installations.

Below is a small portfolio of projects that we have successfully delivered in recent years.

We were appointed as the successful contractor for an LED lighting upgrade project at the prestigious East Kilbride Golf Club in March 2020.

This project involved the removal of existing recessed twin lighting units to be replaced with a new made to order LED light fitting.

We worked with the client over a period of weeks to establish a working method which would suit not only the golf club as a business but also the clubs members.

The results from this project are outstanding and will provide maintenance free lighting within the main function areas for years to come. Along with substantially improved lighting utilising the Dali Dim system to provide the correct lighting ambiance for any function being held.

We were delighted to be referred to Mount Stuart House, on the isle of Bute, in January 2019. The client required a trusted electrical contractor to carry out the full fixed wiring testing of their historic national trust building.

We carried out a full site visit and provided our proposal for the most efficient whilst stringent solution for the client.

Mount Stuart House was originally built in 1719, and is an architectural masterpiece. The property is home to many priceless artifacts and artwork. Therefore it was imperative that the client choose a suitable and most importantly, trusted, contractor.

We carried out the full fixed wiring testing (EICR) of the building in February 2019. We then provided the client full a large documented report of the state of the electrical installation.

Throughout 2019 and 2020 we have been working with the client to phase works to help increase the safety standards of the electrical installations. Including the initial upgrading of 11x three phase distribution boards to include new Arc Fault Detection Devices.

We look forward to working alongside Mount Stuart House for many years to come.

We were successfully appointed in the summer of 2019 to work alongside Mercedes-Benz to deliver a full turnkey Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure at various sites across the north east of England.

For these projects, SM Electrical provided both the required Electrical Installation works and also the roads civils works package.

These projects included the installation of new EV distribution infrastructure on site to allow for 3x 22kW rapid charge points per site, with the future provision to additional units.

Works carried out included -

Excavation of road surfaces for installation of cable ducting systems

Forming of required concrete base plinths at charge point positions

Reinstatement of all road surfaces and parking bay markings

Installation of new EV charging dedicated distribution boards

Cabling to and installation of 22Kw smart charge units

Full commissioning of smart charge features
